flooding, research by the Abbey Home Insurance has discovered.

Only last week, 1,200 insurance claims due to flooding poured in, according to the
report by the retail bank.

And under insurance resulted in over 250,000 claims being turned down each year.

This highlights a continuing problem of home-owners looking for the cheapest home
insurance instead of the one most adequate to their needs, argued Abbey.

\"Buying your home insurance based solely on price may seem like a good idea, but it
may also leave you with poor cover and at risk of being underinsured. If this is the
case you may end up paying more in the long run for not having enough cover when you
come to make a claim,\" said Prasad Shastri, head of insurance marketing at Abbey.
